This Week’s Featured Snack:
Trader Joe’s Korean Jumeokbap
Trader Joe’s just introduced these new-to-them Korean Jumeokbap, and this food has been enjoyed for centuries in Korea.
Jumeokbap are made of rice and other ingredients, traditionally spherical in the shape of a closed fist. Trader Joe’s Jumeokbap are a little more pyramidal, making them a kind of vegan mashup of jumeokbap and Japanese onigiri. Each is filled with rice and a mix of plant-based bulgogi and seasoned vegetables.
They can serve as a hearty snack when you’re feeling like a bite between meals, and they are EXTRA delicious when served with a sauce for dipping. Try pairing a Jumeokbap or two with a bit of the Trader Joe’s Gyoza Dipping Sauce, or a little mayo mixed with TJ’s Sriracha or Gochujang Paste.
We picked up our Korean Jumeokbap from a local Trader Joe’s for just $4.99 per package. Let us know if you’d try them, vote in the weekly snack poll below?
